Common high-strength bolt materials and their application requirements

40Cr: has certain toughness and hardness, relatively low price, suitable for applications with general high strength requirements;

42CrMo: with high strength and toughness, suitable for withstanding large loads and impacts;

45 # steel: has good hardness and wear resistance, but is relatively brittle, and is mostly used in the manufacturing of nuts and screw rods;

35CrMo: With good strength and toughness, it is suitable for high-strength bolts with high manufacturing requirements and greater pressure resistance;

20CrMoTi: Titanium alloy reinforced material, lightweight, corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant, with excellent strength and toughness.

If classified according to strength level, grade 8.8 carbon steel is suitable for general structural connections; 10.9 grade carbon steel has higher strength and is suitable for higher strength structural connections; 12.9 grade carbon steel has very high strength and is suitable for applications with very strict strength requirements.

In general, if the application environment is complex, corrosion-resistant materials should be chosen; If you want to withstand greater pressure, you need to choose materials with high strength; If it is a working condition that needs to withstand tension, then it is necessary to choose materials with high strength and good toughness.
